Her Story

About Jennifer

Jennifer is an adventurer, creating a life she wants to live. With over 13 years of experience in corporate recruiting at global organizations including Amazon, PepsiCo, and Ulta, she has built deep expertise in talent acquisition, recruitment strategy, and candidate development across diverse industries. Jennifer is known for her ability to identify potential, optimize professional branding, and guide clients toward meaningful career opportunities with clarity and confidence. But something was missing in her life, a feeling of freedom.

In 2024, Jennifer founded The Career Essentials LLC, a consulting practice dedicated to helping individuals strengthen their resumes, optimize their personal brand and online presence, and improve their interview skills. Her approach is rooted in strategy, data, storytelling, and authenticity, ensuring every client’s career narrative reflects their strengths and aspirations. Under her guidance, professionals consistently report increased recruiter engagement, faster interview callbacks, and greater confidence navigating their career transitions. Her work is informed by years of leading recruitment teams, managing large-scale hiring programs, and partnering with executives, universities, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Beyond her professional life, Jennifer is a global traveler (55 countries and counting), dedicated yoga teacher, and passionate advocate for personal growth and taking risks. After leaving corporate America in 2022, she embraced a nomadic lifestyle, exploring 6 continents while deepening her practice in mindfulness, culture, and human connection. Fluent in Spanish and currently learning Portuguese, she continues to integrate wellness into her coaching philosophy, helping clients align their professional goals with their personal values. Today, Jennifer seamlessly blends recruitment consulting with yoga instruction, grounded in the belief that meaningful work begins where skills meet stories and more importantly, where purpose meets possibility.

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my curiosity and genuine interest in learning about others. Understanding people and their perspectives, experiences, and goals has been the foundation for building meaningful connections and driving impactful results. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have mentors, both personally and professionally, who guided me along the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: never ASSUME. Approaching every situation with curiosity, asking questions, and seeking clarity has helped me make better decisions, build stronger relationships, and avoid misunderstandings throughout my career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Take risks, do things that bring you joy, and get comfortable with the uncomfortable. There will be ups and downs, but it is your journey and it is beautiful. Also, keep your expectations low, that way you will never be disappointed.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is growing my business. I have never been my own boss and it is exciting and terrifying at the same time. However, this challenge presents a significant opportunity to expand my network, showcase my expertise, and develop innovative strategies for connecting with professionals who can benefit from my services.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The value that I hold most important in both my work and personal life is being open-minded. I believe that staying receptive to new ideas, perspectives, and experiences fosters growth, creativity, and meaningful connections with others. Also, I try to keep my expectations low, that way I will never be disappointed.
