Jennifer Lomeli

Jennifer Lomeli is pursuing a career in environmental science with a focus on water-related fields. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Earth and Space Sciences from the University of Washington in 2021. Following her undergraduate studies, she worked as a consulting forester before deciding to pursue advanced education. She completed her master's degree in Water and Energy Engineering Sciences, specializing in water quality monitoring, through a study abroad program in Mexico in December. During her master's program, she served as a research assistant conducting water studies at a scientific research facility. Her passion for nature, Earth, planets, and water ecosystems drives her interest in water remediation, marine conservation, and water conservation. Previously, she explored aerospace engineering with internships at Boeing before shifting to a science-focused path. She plans to gain workforce experience before pursuing a doctorate and hopes to live in a coastal town such as San Francisco, obtain a diving certificate, and conduct research on ocean policy for organizations like NOAA or marine sanctuaries.
