Her Story
About Jennifer
Jennifer Lynn earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and began her career with laboratory work in analytical chemistry and water-based systems. She later taught high school chemistry for seven years before returning to the lab, where she has spent the past five years developing PSA-free water-based sealers. These innovative systems serve natural stones and tiles while avoiding carcinogenic PFAS chemicals and other problematic substances, drawing inspiration from natural environmental processes to create sustainable, low-impact formulations. She is an active member of the American Chemical Society, Women in Chemistry, and Iota Sigma Pi, the National Honor Society for Women in Chemistry. Lynn credits her professional achievements to ongoing persistence, learning from mistakes, and combining ideas from multiple fields of chemistry.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
You just keep working, because unfortunately you don't get it right the first time, so you have to keep trying, you know, and just learning from your mistakes, and trying something, you know, and just pulling different ideas together that mix well, I guess.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
When I was in college, I had some professors who said not to lie on your interviews or inflate your resume because the people interviewing you, they're really smart and they'll know. It's good to be honest.
