Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first to God and my faith, which guide me in making decisions and navigating challenges. I also credit my strong network and support system for encouraging me, keeping me motivated, and reminding me of what is possible.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to wait 24 hours before responding to conflict, allowing emotions to settle so I can respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. I’ve also learned to give myself grace and recognize that not every day has to be a major achievement—sometimes, simply getting through the day is enough.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to do your research and look beyond the “shiny” side of the work. Event and trade-show management requires flexibility, resourcefulness, thick skin, and the ability to solve problems behind the scenes. Always have a backup plan, stay adaptable, and be prepared for the unexpected.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is determining how to use AI effectively without losing the human value I bring to my work. With so many platforms, tools, and courses available, I’m focused on finding practical ways to integrate AI while keeping my work personal and authentic.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are integrity and follow-through. My military experience taught me to do the right thing even when no one is watching, and I believe strongly in honoring my commitments and following through on my word.
