Jennifer McCann serves as co-owner of Quality Koi Company, Inc., an aquaculture farm in Carneys Point, New Jersey, specializing in ornamental koi breeding. With 26 years in the industry, she began her career after studying marine science and environmental topics in college and interning at the New Jersey State Aquarium, which led to her initial role at a small koi company in Philadelphia. She and her husband, Matt McCann, later established their own operation, building a 43-acre farm where they import, breed, and raise Nishikigoi, focusing on genetics, health, disease management, and client education. McCann and her team have achieved recognition as the only American farm to produce Grand Champion koi twice in competition against Japanese breeders. In addition to daily farm operations including water quality testing, feeding, sorting, and customer service, she contributes to the broader koi community through seminars and shares expertise on pond care and fish selection.
