Her Story

About Jennifer

I've spent 10 years building my career across wellness-related industries, including medical device sales, corporate wellness, and corporate fitness. My passion for fitness and wellness started early - I played lacrosse in college and high school, and I've always been drawn to this field. I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from Bowling Green State University in 2016, and that foundation has shaped everything I do. In my current role as an account manager, I oversee medical supplies for hospitals across Minnesota, the Dakotas, Montana, Utah, and Alaska, working with their inpatient pharmacies. I'm based out of central Ohio, and my typical day involves calling customers to check in on their supply needs and working to upsell and get them on as many supplies as we can. I travel once a month or once every other month to visit accounts in person. Outside of my day job, I teach group exercise classes including boot camp and HIIT as a side gig at different gyms. One of my most notable achievements was breaking into the competitive medical device sales industry after trying for a few years - I succeeded through persistence, networking, and connecting with people who were already in those roles to learn what they did to get there. I'm very motivated and have a strong family and friend network that supports my success.

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my success comes from having a strong family and friend network, and being a very motivated person. That support system and my own drive have been key to getting where I am today.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say try and get as much experience or shadowing that you can. Focus on networking and putting yourself out there. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, because that's when growth happens. Those are the things that helped me break into this competitive industry.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Sales is hard. It's a numbers game, and if you don't meet your numbers, you're trying right again. That can be challenging. There's always that expectation to hit your goals consistently, and that pressure is real.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I always like to say faith, family, and fitness - my 3Fs. I'm big into my faith, spending quality family time, and also living an active lifestyle. Those three values guide everything I do in both my work and personal life.
