Her Story
About Jennifer
I started my career in general banking fresh out of college in the late 90s when I was in Charlotte, North Carolina, which happens to be a banking hub. It was just a contract role that I took initially. From general banking, I took on an opportunity for a full-time role in the mortgage space, and I've been in the industry ever since 2003. In the industry, I've done everything from mortgage sales to mortgage operations, as well as administration within the general banking and mortgage industries. About two and a half years ago, I added the real estate piece to it, which is one of the reasons why I moved to Florida, because it's one of the few states in the U.S. that allows you to hold both licenses and practice both professions at the same time. My role is being able to consult with persons that are interested in either becoming homeowners or expanding their current real estate portfolio, whether that looks like for their personal development or within their investment portfolios. I've been recognized for having the fastest turn times from point of application to closing, with turn times as quick as 16 days from the point of application to keys in hand. That's mainly attributed to being able to coach and consult with clients from the very onset and setting proper expectations from the very beginning, and having sometimes those tough conversations that other professionals are either not knowledgeable about having or unwilling to have, just so that they're most prepared for what to expect during the whole process. I feel as though being that forthcoming and that transparent gets them engaged early on so that we work as a team together in being able to get through the process collectively.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being able to coach and consult with clients from the very onset and setting proper expectations from the very beginning. I'm willing to have those tough conversations that other professionals are either not knowledgeable about having or unwilling to have, just so that my clients are most prepared for what to expect during the whole process. I feel as though being that forthcoming and that transparent gets them engaged early on so that we work as a team together in being able to get through the process collectively. I find more times than not, it's appreciated early on so that they have a clear understanding of why their engagement is needed so quickly and proficiently so that we can work together seamlessly. This approach has led to me being recognized for having the fastest turn times from point of application to closing, with turn times as quick as 16 days from the point of application to keys in hand.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me center around three pillars: faith, finance, and fitness. I've written my book, Growth Zone, based on these three pillars. In my professional work, I align myself with faith-based organizations, and I also align myself with organizations that center themselves around wellness and holistic living. These pillars guide both my personal and professional life.
