Her Story

About Jennifer

Jennifer Miller serves as an Enterprise Account Executive at Saris, a startup where she has worked since April. With approximately 10 years in SaaS, her career began in the credit union world handling back office foreign funds transfers. She lived in Germany working at an American credit union branch associated with the military and later worked at a credit union in North Carolina. Encouraged by friends in software sales, she applied to Citrix as an SDR, was initially rejected, but reapplied a year later and was hired. At Citrix she worked in the financial vertical selling to banks and credit unions, starting with 120 dials a day in lead generation before moving to a closing seller role where she was the top seller two years in a row at ShareFile in Raleigh. She has since held roles at a few other companies before joining Ferris. Miller is a two-time President's Club honoree and has published two poetry books on Amazon, which she pursued for therapeutic reasons. In her role she focuses on prospecting, securing meetings with C-suite executives, understanding client business pains, and expanding accounts, particularly in the credit union space. She is happy as an individual contributor focused on continuous learning and growth.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Find a mentor that you believe in and that you trust. You have to have the grit and the work ethic. Put the work in to get the results. Don't take no as a no. Have people in your corner, have a mentor, have cheerleaders, and go where you're celebrated and not tolerated. Always be curious.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

AI is always going to be a challenge with the stigma that it might take over jobs and AI fever. Getting people to open up and want to listen, and getting them to take a meeting is the hardest part.
