Her Story
About Jennifer
Jennifer Phillips, MPH, is an accomplished Executive Healthcare IT and Analytics Leader with nearly 20 years of experience at the intersection of public health, technology, data analytics, and healthcare operations. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at TIAG®, a federal health IT contracting organization, she leads complex healthcare technology initiatives supporting large-scale behavioral health and suicide prevention programs for service members and their families. Her career journey began in epidemiology and biostatistics, where she developed expertise in translating health data into actionable insights that improve outcomes for individuals, organizations, and communities.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has specialized in designing and implementing data-driven solutions that bridge the gap between research, clinical practice, and operational decision-making. One of her most significant achievements was transforming a behavioral health assessment tool from a traditional paper-and-pencil survey into a fully digital, enterprise-wide platform used across the Army. The mobile-accessible system provides real-time access and automated reporting capabilities, reducing processes that once took months into streamlined, actionable insights available around the clock. Her leadership spans healthcare analytics strategy, AI-ready data platforms, cloud modernization, program management, and the development of technology solutions that serve complex healthcare environments.
Jennifer holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science, both from Texas A&M University. She is an active member of the American Public Health Association and is deeply committed to supporting military families and veterans through her volunteer work as Founder of the Comal County Veteran Spouses group and as part of the Veteran Spouse Network. Recognized with the President’s Circle Award in 2020 for entrepreneurial spirit, commitment, and integrity, Jennifer is guided by values of servant leadership, integrity, curiosity, and service. Her mission is to leverage technology and data not simply for innovation, but to create healthcare systems that are more accessible, effective, and human-centered.

Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family, especially my spouse, a combat veteran. Seeing his dedication and commitment to bettering himself every day inspires me to work harder in serving and supporting our service members and veteran communities.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is from my dad to follow my passion. When my passion aligns with my purpose, I believe I can build a meaningful and fulfilling career around it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the tech industry is to go for it. While tech has historically been male-dominated, there is a place for women and everyone who has a passion for data, math, science, and innovation. Don’t let fear hold you back—embrace your skills, lean into your interests, and know that you belong in tech.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in our field is the potential of AI to unlock unprecedented levels of information and innovation. By embracing and harnessing its capabilities, we can create new possibilities and drive progress. At the same time, AI presents a challenge as we navigate how to adapt, compete, and work alongside this rapidly evolving technology.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
At the core of my leadership is a commitment to service, integrity, curiosity, empathy, courage, and human connection. I believe data and technology should always serve people, leadership is an act of stewardship rather than authority, and the strongest organizations are built on trust and authenticity. Guided by a deep sense of purpose, I value lifelong learning, systems thinking, compassion, community, and meaningful impact over recognition. Whether leading complex programs, writing about life's hardest moments, or investing in my family and community, I strive to leave people, teams, and places stronger, more connected, and more whole than I found them.
