Her Story

About Jennifer

I started in the family construction business Precision Paving helping on the back end with interior design and remodeling. I owned a boutique called Notch Boutique on Camp Bowie which I built out myself until COVID hit. I went corporate as Director of Sales in multifamily but got burnt out on the 9-to-5 hustle. Now I'm launching QW Solutions under Precision Paving focusing on smaller jobs like parking lot striping and maintenance while building personal relationships with clients. I am a licensed cosmetologist and 200-hour certified hot yoga instructor who values creativity and authenticity.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from watching my mom be a super hard worker and dominate everything she did. She instilled in me that as a woman I can do this too, it's not just a man's world.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My grandfather taught me that a handshake and looking someone in the eyes matters, and your word is good. Make sure your word is always good.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You are going to be judged based on being a woman so you have to know your stuff. Come in confident, knowledgeable, and genuine.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Bidding processes are a challenge because when walking job sites there are not a lot of women there. It can be intimidating but once they know your knowledge they respect it.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being authentic and honest. I value honest people that align with my values. Making a dollar doesn't matter if it is going to stress me out or feel dirty. I don't like to let people down.
