Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my relentless work ethic, perseverance, and commitment to continuous growth. I never give up or stop pursuing my goals, regardless of the challenges I face. Rather than viewing setbacks as losses, I see them as valuable lessons that help me learn, improve, and become stronger with every experience.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is that it's never too late to pursue your goals. Earning my master's degree later in life reinforced that belief and reminded me that growth, learning, and new opportunities are always possible, regardless of age or where you are in your career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to keep going, even when the journey feels difficult. There will be challenges, and I'm still overcoming them myself, but don't let them discourage you. Stay committed to your purpose, because the impact you make and the gratitude you receive from those you help will remind you that every challenge is worth it in the end.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is encouraging more professionals and the broader community to recognize the importance of this work before it affects them personally. Greater awareness, collaboration, and access to resources are essential to making a meaningful impact. Just because an issue hasn't touched your own life doesn't mean it isn't significant, and taking it seriously from the outset can make a profound difference for those who need support.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The value that guides me most in both my work and personal life is empathy. I believe in approaching every person and situation with an open mind, recognizing that what something looks like from my perspective may be very different from someone else's experience. By leading with compassion, keeping my eyes and mind open, and seeking to understand before judging, I can build stronger relationships and make a more meaningful impact.
