About Jennifer
Jennifer Ross is the Deputy Director of Outreach and Partnerships for the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families, a role she assumed in April following her retirement from the U.S. Air Force. She served 20 years on active duty from 2002 to 2023 and developed an interest in veteran advocacy later in her military career. After retiring, she worked for approximately one and a half years with the Veterans Upward Bound education program and then spent nine months engaged in direct policy and advocacy at a Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America before joining the state agency. Ross earned her undergraduate degree from American Military University while on active duty and completed an MBA at Cornell University. She also holds a master's degree from the University of Massachusetts Global Campus and is completing a master's in public policy at Georgetown University. A life member of the VFW, she continues to conduct advocacy work with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and serves as a volunteer career mentor with FourBlock, providing coaching and support to transitioning veterans. In her personal time, she fosters dogs through The Worthy Dog foster group.
