About Jennifer

Jennifer Semchyshen is a Health Coach, Integrative Health Coach (Integrative Health Practitioner Institute), and Sales Executive with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. She brings more than a decade of experience in sales, client relations, and recruitment marketing, including senior-level roles at Indeed.com, where she developed strong expertise in strategic communication, relationship management, and solution-focused client engagement.

Her transition into integrative health coaching was shaped by a personal health experience during the COVID-19 period, which led her to pursue a more holistic, root-cause approach to wellness. This experience inspired her formal training under Dr. Cabal in Massachusetts, where she completed her Level 1 and Level 2 certifications in integrative health coaching, strengthening her foundation in functional health principles and whole-person care.

Today, Jennifer operates a virtual health coaching practice, working one-on-one with clients to deliver personalized, evidence-informed wellness support that may include functional lab testing interpretation and lifestyle guidance. Her areas of focus include detoxification support, viral load awareness, and hormonal health in women. She is currently advancing her expertise through Level 3 certification in DNA-based health insights, with a continued commitment to helping clients better understand their bodies, restore balance, and build sustainable long-term wellness.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice I would give to young women entering this field is to pursue it wholeheartedly if it is something you are truly passionate about. If you are drawn to biology, chemistry, or simply understanding how systems and data connect and make sense, trust that interest and begin building on it with confidence and curiosity. Early on, it is common to doubt your abilities, but confidence is developed through practice, consistency, and real-world experience rather than perfection. Equally important is surrounding yourself with a strong support system, whether that is mentors, family, or peers who can encourage and ground you as you grow. Start close to home by sharing your knowledge and supporting those around you, which helps strengthen both your understanding and your confidence. As you continue to develop, you will find your voice and expertise becoming stronger over time, and this field is expected to continue growing significantly over the next several years, offering meaningful opportunity for those who are committed, curious, and willing to grow with it.
