Her Story

About Jennifer

Jennifer Velasco is a real estate professional specializing in retail acquisition, with approximately 10 years of experience in the industry. She began her real estate career at Public Storage, initially serving as an executive assistant supporting senior leadership before transitioning into real estate acquisitions. During her career, she developed experience in acquisition coordination, executive support, commercial real estate, and retail properties.

Jennifer most recently worked with the Irvine Company in a retail leasing capacity before joining Stockdale Capital Partners as a Retail Coordinator in 2026. Her experience across both retail operations and acquisition-focused roles has provided her with a broad understanding of the commercial real estate environment. She particularly enjoys the acquisition side of the industry, describing it as fast-paced and exciting, and has built her career through hands-on experience and a willingness to continuously learn.

Jennifer attended the University of Arizona for two years without completing a degree and credits persistence and practical experience as important components of her professional development. She places a strong emphasis on family, respect, humility, and workplace culture, and encourages the next generation to pursue education, start wherever necessary, and build their careers from a strong foundation. Her professional journey reflects her belief in continued learning, resilience, and finding opportunities that align with both career goals and personal values.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to persistence and the willingness to make changes when a role or environment no longer aligns with my professional or personal values. I believe it is important to keep moving forward, recognize when a change is necessary, and seek opportunities that support both professional growth and personal well-being.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is, “Always know you know nothing.” This reminds me to remain humble, curious, and open to learning. No matter how much experience I gain, there is always more to learn from colleagues, new opportunities, and different experiences.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering real estate is to prioritize education and be comfortable working their way up. Do not be afraid to start at the bottom or take on roles that allow you to build a strong foundation. Learn as much as possible, develop essential skills, and understand the industry from the ground up. I also encourage women to recognize the importance of workplace culture and to find an environment where they feel respected and supported.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family and respect are the values that are most important to me. In the workplace, I believe in accepting others, understanding that people have different personalities and perspectives, and treating everyone with respect regardless of their position or title. I also believe it is important to find a workplace culture that aligns with your personal values and supports your overall well-being.
