About Jennifer

Jennifer Volz has dedicated 24 years to the animal care field, beginning with an education-based position at Disney where she shared conservation messages. She completed an animal behavior research internship and a zookeeper internship at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, leading to 19 years as a zookeeper where she advanced to senior keeper and worked with every type of animal in a zoo facility. Volz pursued managerial roles for the past 7 years, serving as an adjunct professor at Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, a coordinator in Disney's nutrition department with an animal nutrition specialty, and zoological manager at the Orlando Science Center where she built a state-of-the-art animal area from 20 animals and 5 staff to nearly 200 animals and over 20 staff. She currently serves as Night Supervisor at an exotic emergency vet clinic, bringing her diverse background in zookeeping, nutrition, training, and supervision to the role. Volz earned a bachelor's degree in zoology and psychology in 2005 and maintains memberships in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Association of Zoo Keepers.
