Her Story

About Jennifer

I started in finance working on the trading floor at the Chicago Board of Options Exchange for 16 years. I then transitioned to law enforcement, becoming a police officer after facing initial setbacks including termination from my first agency. I progressed to field training officer, rewrote the training program, became corporal/OIC in 2019, and was promoted to sergeant last September. I now serve as a patrol supervisor mentoring young officers. Inspired by my experiences, I am pursuing a master's to become a therapist for first responders and veterans at Angie's Place.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If this is something you really want, you don't give up. Stop listening to voices telling you that you can't do something. If it's something that you are truly passionate about, nothing should stop you.
