Ten minutes with Jenny

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think I'm gonna get a little personal in the answer. And it's my drive to want to do to break the mold. I always joke that I'm the black sheep of my family in a good way. Because I'm an only child, I'm the first one, I'm like the pioneer. I'm the first one who lived abroad, I'm the first one who's had this career trajectory. So it's like this drive of pushing the limits in a way that not irresponsibly, but pushing the limits of what's possible. And like hey, what happens if I live in Korea? What happens if I take this opportunity? What happens if I go to the U.S. and wait for my green card? ... I wouldn't have been able to do it without the support of my dad, my family, and my friends, who've always believed in me. ... the importance of the tribe, it's so crucial.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Find your passion, find what really fires up your soul. And follow that journey. And don't be afraid to take risks. Don't be afraid if you have the opportunity, see the world. ... be bold. Don't be afraid of taking chances, and if you can, see the world and take at least a couple months if you can, or if you have a chance of studying abroad, or doing an internship abroad, do it. ... be curious and reach out to people... create bridges with other women around the world, because that's one of the biggest literal blessings that you'll have, is learn from new perspectives and women that are doing incredible things all around the world.
