Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jenny

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success is a product of always learning, that never stops. I've always been a voracious reader, interested in learning how things work. Being able to constantly learn and level up, especially with AI as a thought partner, and knowing when not to use it, combining it with people work.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Take the job before you feel ready. You're never gonna feel 100% ready, you have to take the leap.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Make sure you find a community, because you're gonna have ups and downs. Having a community of some kind, whether professional association or friends interested in the same thing, will really help you through the good and tricky times.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Biggest challenge is bifurcation of the workforce - some excited about AI, others scared and burned out, leading to AI fatigue. Biggest opportunity is being thoughtful about how we use AI going forward and making sure everyone has a voice in the next era of computing.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Making sure that everybody has a voice, that different perspectives are represented, and integrity - doing what you say you will do.
