Jenny’s career path reflects adaptability and a willingness to explore different disciplines. She began in research and analytical roles before transitioning into digital marketing in the early 2010s. She subsequently spent approximately seven to eight years with a Charleston-based agency, advancing through client management and leadership positions to become Vice President of Operations and Client Strategy. During this period, she developed experience in team leadership, client relationships, operational management, and integrated marketing strategy. One notable professional accomplishment was helping guide her agency through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic while retaining its entire client base. Today, she applies these experiences through Westlight Marketing and contract engagements, helping travel and tourism businesses improve customer acquisition, loyalty programs, digital performance, and marketing operations.
Beyond her professional work, Jenny is passionate about travel, endurance sports, and community service. She has visited more than 60 countries and completed a marathon or half marathon on every continent as a member of the Seven Continents Club. She is also working toward completing the Abbott World Marathon Majors. Her volunteer commitments include teaching English through ENGin and supporting construction projects with Charleston Habitat for Humanity. Jenny’s multidisciplinary background, interest in emerging technologies, and firsthand understanding of travel and customer behavior inform her approach to marketing. She continues to explore how AI, loyalty strategies, and changing consumer expectations are reshaping the travel industry while helping organizations adapt and build meaningful customer relationships.

Ten minutes with Jenny
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage aspiring marketing professionals to focus on gaining meaningful, practical experience, especially when traditional job opportunities are limited. Internships, hands-on projects, and informational interviews can help build skills, expand professional networks, and create opportunities. I also recommend reaching out to people working in your desired field through platforms such as LinkedIn. A thoughtful request for an informational conversation can provide valuable insight, establish connections, and open doors to opportunities you might not otherwise discover.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in marketing is adapting to the rapid development of AI and its influence on how consumers discover and interact with brands. In travel marketing, AI may change how people research destinations, compare options, and make booking decisions. However, access to the same AI tools does not automatically give every organization a competitive advantage. Understanding the industry, knowing customers, building trust, and developing effective marketing strategies remain essential. The challenge is to use emerging technology thoughtfully while continuing to differentiate brands and respond to customers’ real needs.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value adaptability, continuous learning, meaningful relationships, and thoughtful decision-making. My career has taken me through different disciplines and professional roles, reinforcing the importance of remaining curious and being willing to evolve. I also believe in communicating effectively, supporting colleagues, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and teams. Whether navigating uncertainty, developing marketing strategies, or pursuing personal goals, I strive to remain open to new perspectives and learn from every experience.
