Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jenora
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my unwavering faith in God, the strength of my family, and the power of community. I believe that every opportunity I’ve received is rooted in purpose, and I channel that purpose into uplifting others, especially my students. Although I was bullied and often felt invisible growing up, I later realized that so many people were watching and rooting for me without me even knowing it. That realization taught me that my story matters, and if I could overcome those challenges and succeed, then anyone can.
I strongly believe in the power of networking and community because meaningful connections can open doors and create opportunities for others to grow and succeed. Investing into your community is one of my biggest values. I believe without community, it will be hard to create a legacy. I always tell my students, "There is not an "I" in Team, but an "E" for We and together we can build our futures. I also believe in investing in myself because continuous growth and learning are what keep me moving forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To remain adaptable and trust the process, even when life does not go according to plan. Pray for guidance, clarity, consistency, discipline, and purpose when feeling lost. Stay true to yourself and give yourself grace during seasons of healing and growth. Surround yourself with people who have similar mindsets of where you are going and who you want to be, therefore they can remind you of who you are, when you feel astray. Faith without works is dead.
When COVID-19 happened, I felt my transition from pursuing a corporate fashion executive career to becoming a business educator unlocked another part of the purpose God has in store for me. My future goals now include teaching youth the power and importance of financial literacy and entrepreneurship, which inspired me to found my 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity organization, the Incassable Foundation.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never allow your environment to limit your vision. Stay consistent, believe in your purpose, and do not be afraid to build something from the ground up. Success is not defined by where you start, but by your commitment to growth, learning, and perseverance.
For a long time, I thought I was average, only to realize later that people were watching and rooting for me all along. If I could overcome challenges and achieve my goals, then you can too. Do not let bullying or feelings of self-doubt stop you from pursuing your dreams. Document your journey, invest in yourself, and remember that your story is significant; even when you may not see it yet.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is ensuring equitable access to resources for economically disadvantaged students. However, this also presents a powerful opportunity; to bridge gaps through education, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs that can transform entire communities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, resilience, integrity, service, and empowerment. I'm deeply committed to pouring into others, leading with compassion, and creating opportunities for those who may not otherwise have access. I'm always big on networking and community, especially when it helps me connect with women who are trying to do the same thing. I believe in investing in myself and documenting my journey not for fame, but to show others that if I could overcome being many obstacles growing up, they can achieve their dreams too. My content creation is about telling my story authentically because I want people to know that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. That even an everyday voice matters and can change the world.
