Her Story
About Jessa
I grew up in a family of 11 musicians. My parents are both musicians, composers, and music educators. I got an early start creating a skill base. I earned a BA in Music and studied for three summers at the Aspen Music Festival and School, studying composition. After college, I moved to Colorado and got a teaching position teaching choir at a couple of high schools. I then decided to branch out and work as a self-employed independent contractor, which I have done for 25 years. I started writing songs a few years later in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. I lived in Colorado and Washington for about 12 years and am now returning to Colorado as a full-time resident, taking on a teaching position with the Waldorf School. In recent years, I have merged my passion for music education with environmental stewardship through my project Wake Up Humanity, a world cinematic pop project and global grassroots music video that is being called a modern-day We Are the World.
