Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jessica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work combined with working smart and leaning on my network and village around me. From school days I've always been a hard worker, but success also comes from surrounding yourself with people from different walks of life and departments to get different perspectives and advice.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received is the PIE model from a former CEO: Performance, Image, and Exposure. Performance is doing your job well, Image is how others see you including communication and attitude, and Exposure means making sure people know about your work so you can progress in your career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay curious and keep learning because every day, organization, team, and person is different. Build in time for breaks and self-care so you can sustain your performance.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity and challenge right now is AI. It can make employees more productive and help design better solutions for clients, but companies must figure out how to use it appropriately or they will fall behind. Modernization with AI also brings issues around data privacy and security.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Curiosity and learning, responsibility and accountability, shared success as a team, balance, and positivity. Work is hard so positivity helps solve problems instead of just talking about them, and shared success has more impact than winning alone.
