I attribute my success to my faith, God’s guidance, and the personal and professional growth I’ve experienced throughout my career. Learning from others has been instrumental—observing how to lead under pressure and communicate effectively has taught me discipline, emotional intelligence, and the importance of focus. Every stage of my journey has challenged me to adapt and grow, reinforcing the value of showing up consistently, learning from experience, and continuously building my skills. Ultimately, my aim has always been to serve others with integrity, confidence, and a commitment to excellence.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to lead with quiet strength. Influence doesn’t always come from being the loudest voice in the room—it comes from staying composed, making clear decisions, and demonstrating confidence without needing to raise your voice. I’ve learned the value of showing compassion while maintaining firmness, leading by example, and building trust through consistency rather than seeking attention. This approach has guided me in fostering respect, credibility, and meaningful impact in my work.

My advice to young women entering this industry is to trust where God places you and lead with the strength that already resides within you. You don’t have to be the loudest voice to make the greatest impact—what matters most is showing up consistently and building trust, even under pressure. The natural strengths we bring as women—emotional intelligence, resilience, and collaborative leadership—are what drive teams and organizations forward. When you stay grounded in who you are and operate from a place of confidence and steadiness, your influence grows in ways that open doors, elevate others, and strengthen the group you’re part of.

I think one of the biggest challenges would be navigating the emotional weight of a lot of the cases, while still making clear, unbiased decisions. Situations are complex, and the stakes are incredibly high, so you have to maintain composure and professionalism, while being compassionate all at once. And along with that comes the secondary challenge of having constant coordination, working with multiple agencies, departments, and professionals to ensure that children and families receive the right support. I think the opportunities come from the impact that we can make on families. Every case that you deal with, every family that you contact with is a chance to help bring clarity, safety, and hope for justice. It's where you can build your leadership skills, and those strengths translate far beyond law enforcement - they prepare you for other leadership roles where people rely on you in complex situations.

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faithfulness, integrity, and compassion. These guide how I approach every aspect of my life. At work, they mean being dependable for children and families in crisis, and showing the same loyalty and support to my coworkers. At home, they translate to being present, grounded, and intentional with my family and the people I care about. These values help me lead with consistency, care, and purpose in everything I do.
