Jessica Bazner is the proprietor of Kevin James Menswear and 143 & Company, a women-owned men’s clothing and wedding services business located in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. Since founding Kevin James Menswear in 2019, Jessica has built a boutique-style shopping experience that offers everything from casual wear to dress attire, catering to sizes Small through 4X, with complimentary alterations available. Known for blending classic, conservative styles with fun and fashionable options, her store stands out for personalized service and customer satisfaction, reflecting Jessica’s commitment to making every shopping experience seamless and memorable.

A graduate of Siena Heights University with a degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Jessica has a strong foundation in business strategy and community engagement. Before launching her own ventures, she honed her skills in event management and fundraising as a Development Coordinator with JDRF International, where she led third-party fundraising initiatives, managed events, and oversaw social media campaigns for the Southeast Michigan Chapter. Her professional journey demonstrates a dedication to both business excellence and meaningful community impact.

Beyond her entrepreneurial endeavors, Jessica is deeply involved in mentoring and philanthropy. She serves as a Women of Tomorrow Mentor, guiding young women to build life skills for a successful future, and participates in the University of Michigan Economic Development Program. She has been recognized as Small Business Owner of the Year in 2022 and actively contributes to charitable efforts, including mask-making initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always maintain a healthy mindset and carry myself with confidence.

My advice to young women entering this industry is: go for it—always pursue your dreams and never hold back.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now are staying relevant and effectively managing multiple moving parts throughout the day. At the same time, these challenges present opportunities to grow, adapt, and continuously improve my skills and processes.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are ethics, strong moral principles, and self-respect.
