About Jessica
Jessica Betz has nearly 20 years of experience in education. She serves as Director of all private Catholic schools in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, providing leadership across the region. She also serves as Director of the Luminary Track at the John Henry Newman Institute, where as a mentor she works with leaders globally to help them succeed by focusing on individual needs and improvement areas. Passionate about mission-driven work, she is currently authoring a book to help school leaders and teachers focus on essentials in the classroom and is growing her podcast to reach more audiences.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I think I would come back to my faith. I think that that has helped me to be successful. And it might be the same. It might be faith and family. I think that those two things allowed me to be successful. And just having grit, like not giving up hard work, and just you know you just have to keep pushing.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell them that leadership is so there's two parts to leadership, and I think the first is that we need to share it. I think that as leaders we need to take the time to empower other people and allow them to see their leadership potential. And the second part is that through leadership we should be serving other people. So it's not a self game. It's about what we can do for others and how we can lift up and build things for others around us.
