Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to keeping my priorities grounded in faith, people that have poured into me, challenged me and helped me grow into the leader I am today, also self-care. By putting God first, I find strength and guidance in my decisions, and by valuing people. I strive to lead with empathy, listen with intention, and invest in mentoring others so they can reach their full potential. I have learned that in order to lead effectively, I must also take care of myself so I can bring my best to those I serve. Throughout my career, working in a fast paced high pressure field has taught me perseverance, resilience, and a steady focus on results. By maintaining integrity, delivering consistent outcomes, and refusing to be deterred by challenges, I have been able to build credibility, earn respect, and create a lasting impact both within my teams and across the organizations I’ve supported.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to take every opportunity that comes your way and learn everything you can from it. Every experience big or small teaches you something valuable if you stay open to it. Stay humble, remain teachable, and never forget where you started, because those early moments shape the leader you become.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to remember that success is not only about career achievements but also about creating balance with the things that matter most in life. For me, family has always been a top priority. I encourage women to embrace opportunities with confidence, not be afraid to take risks, and know that perseverance pays off. At the same time, it’s important to stay grounded in your values, invest in meaningful relationships, and build a life that reflects both your professional goals and personal commitments.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in healthcare, especially in ophthalmology, is balancing efficiency with compassion. We’re seeing more patients than ever before, technology is evolving quickly, and expectations are higher across the board. The challenge is creating systems that keep clinics running smoothly without losing the human connection that makes patient care meaningful. It takes strong communication, teamwork, and leadership to make sure patients feel seen, not just treated.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life begin with putting God first and trusting in His direction, which keeps me grounded no matter the circumstances. I believe in the power of self-confidence and reminding myself to believe in my own abilities, even when challenges arise. Surrounding myself with inspiring people who lift me up and challenge me to grow has also been essential, as strong relationships create both accountability and encouragement. I place a high priority on setting healthy boundaries, understanding that balance is key to sustaining long-term success and well-being. Most importantly, I’ve learned that success is sweeter when shared—whether it’s celebrating accomplishments with family, colleagues, or my community, true fulfillment comes from lifting others up along the way.
