							Jessica Cuningham is a seasoned security professional and currently serves as Security Manager at Blue Canyon Technologies, a leading provider of small satellite solutions. With over five years at the company, she has steadily advanced through roles in industrial and personnel security, bringing a strong sense of integrity, operational discipline, and a deep understanding of defense and space industry requirements. Her work ensures the secure delivery of cutting-edge technologies in support of the war fighter. 
Jessica began her career as an investigator, honing her skills in government contract work and legal investigations. Her early experience at KeyPoint Government Solutions and the Colorado Public Defender’s Office laid the foundation for a career built on discretion, critical thinking, and attention to detail. She holds a degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice and a minor in Legal Studies from Colorado State University, where she was also an active member of the Criminal Justice Club.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Jessica is passionate about giving back. She has volunteered with Longmont United Hospital and has supported youth empowerment through her work with Girls on the Run. Outside the office, she enjoys staying active and continually seeks opportunities to mentor professionals entering the security and aerospace fields.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being disciplined, resilient, and committed to supporting those around me. As a manager, I believe in leading by example, staying focused through challenges, and creating a team environment where people feel empowered to do their best work.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to focus on being valuable, not just being busy. It reminded me that impact matters more than activity—and that intentional, meaningful work will always stand out.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is simple: take up space. Be confident, trust your expertise, and don’t be afraid to bring your perspective to the table—it’s valuable and needed.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are integrity, consistency, accountability, and putting people first. I believe strong leadership starts with showing up fully, doing what you say you will, and creating a culture where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
