01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Run your own race.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
There's a lot of comparison with how others run their business. It's finding what your niche is. Understanding that you are basically building your own book of business, and it takes time. For the first 5 years, pound that pavement and work hard. Once built, if referral-focused, it's about building relationships. Relationships are everything.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The market is constantly changing, which can be an opportunity for more conversations with clients. Many lenders are order takers rather than advisors. The opportunity is to be client and relationship-based and forward-focused.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, and treating others as I would my family.
