Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jessica
01What do you attribute your success to?
Curiosity and hope. I looked at the job at the adult school for 6 months before applying. I keep going, keep trying, reach my goals, and keep my word to myself.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Learn how to put up boundaries. It's okay for people not to understand you. Keep professional boundaries at work. Don't get too wrapped up in the politics. Be a professional, serve patients and coworkers, and don't let things affect you outside of work.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
It's very competitive, especially in the Bay Area. Challenges include getting interviews and growing into new opportunities despite strong performance. Technology and economy make the job market tough, with people feeling insecure and hours being cut.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
To serve people and assist with the healing process. In personal life, make sure people know I care about them, give love back, and be kind.
