Her Story

About Jessica

Jessica Gurney is a travel professional based in West Jordan, Utah, where she works as a Travel Coordinator with True Adventure Travel. With a year and a half of experience as an independent agent, she brings a background that includes time in an airline call center and a travel agency. She specializes in Caribbean vacations for families and couples, including all-inclusive resorts and cruises, and is Disney certified, which allows her to plan magical Disney trips for her clients. She also arranges other types of getaways as needed.

Beyond serving clients, Jessica mentors fellow agents, leads trainings, and continues to grow her team in collaboration with other mentors in the travel field. A bilingual speaker of English and Spanish, she began her college studies in El Salvador in marketing, business, and international marketing, and she is currently enrolled in the Tech Moms program in Utah, where she is developing web development skills to strengthen her business.

Jessica is an active member of a Latinas group for business owners and of the LDS church. She previously volunteered with a rescue dogs organization in El Salvador, helping care for the animals through walks, food, and companionship. She credits her success to her faith and her family, especially her supportive husband, and she balances her career with time spent with her young children. Her guiding principle is that building a business takes time and that delegating and asking for help are essential parts of the journey.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jessica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to God and my family. My husband has been an incredible source of support and has always believed in me. I place everything in God's hands, and I am grateful to work full-time while caring for my family and building a better future for my children.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have received is that I don't have to do it all. I can delegate or ask for help when I need it, because building something from the ground up takes time and effort.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family and faith are central to who I am, and I value making time for the things that bring me joy. I love going for walks, visiting new places, and taking my children along with me. I also enjoy watching Korean dramas, listening to music, and singing along with an app that provides background tracks. I may not have a trained singer's voice, but I enjoy it all the same.
