With over 10 years in the financial accounting industry, she previously worked as a controller at an engineering and construction company handling accounts payable and receivable, balance sheets, reconciliations, and payroll. She holds an undergraduate degree in business from Grand Canyon University and is pursuing her MBA at the same institution, with an expected completion around 2028.

Ten minutes with Jessica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say being industrious and having a thirst for knowledge and always wanting to get better and grow professionally and personally, whether it's spiritually or learning new ways to do something, jumping on calls at work with other people to learn their methods, and not to get complacent in either aspect.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to network and to truly find interest in simple conversations with people and to genuinely connect because you never know when those relationships can circle back around and help you out in the future, whether it's a letter of recommendation or tapping you on the shoulder for the next role. Always be open and greet people with an open mindset and an open heart.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

What I value most in my work and personal life is the relationships I create around me, whether it's with my colleagues, my neighbors, my family, my child and being able to have genuine relationships with people that aren't strained by stress or health issues, and being able to be present in those relationships.
