Her Story

About Jessica

Jessica Hernandez is the Founder of MHU Services, LLC, a business focused on financial organization, entrepreneur support, and digital systems. Established three years ago, MHU Services has evolved alongside Jessica’s own professional and educational journey. What initially began with notary and officiant services has grown into a broader platform designed to help individuals, families, and entrepreneurs create greater organization and confidence in their personal finances and business operations.

Jessica is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business while completing a certification in Leadership and Management, continuing to strengthen the knowledge and leadership skills she brings to both her career and entrepreneurial work. As a first-generation college student, earning her degree carries a deeper personal significance and represents both an accomplishment of her own and an example she hopes to set for her daughter. For Jessica, education represents more than professional advancement; it reflects her commitment to breaking barriers, continually learning, evolving, and creating opportunities for the generations that follow.

Her journey has taught her that success does not require having everything figured out or following a perfectly defined path. Instead, she believes meaningful success can be found in the decision to keep moving forward, remain open to growth, and have the courage to change direction when necessary.

Family remains one of the strongest influences in Jessica’s life and has shaped the values she carries into her work, including integrity, compassion, empathy, and service. Her commitment to helping others began early through various community service initiatives during high school, including helping paint and improve local schools, volunteering at community events, and chaperoning activities. Those experiences helped establish a service-oriented mindset that continues to influence the way she approaches leadership and entrepreneurship today.

Through MHU Services, Jessica hopes to make financial organization and entrepreneurial support feel more approachable and accessible, particularly for individuals, families, and small business owners who may feel overwhelmed, overlooked, or unsure of where to begin. She believes people should be able to seek guidance without judgment and receive practical support that helps them become more confident in making decisions for themselves and their futures.

For Jessica, growth is both personal and purposeful. She remains committed to continuing her education, expanding her professional expertise, growing MHU Services, and using her experiences to positively influence others. Above all, she hopes to lead by example and build a legacy her family can be proud of—one that demonstrates that changing direction, continuing to learn, and beginning again can all be meaningful parts of success.

Ten minutes with Jessica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to persistence, integrity, and passion, along with the understanding that success does not require having everything figured out or being completely finished. I believe that making progress each day is an achievement in itself. As a first-generation college student, pursuing my education while building my career and business has taught me that growth often means creating a path you have never seen modeled before. My mother taught me the importance of dreaming big, even during life’s darkest seasons, and that lesson has given me the strength and determination to keep moving forward with purpose and optimism.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to remain open to learning, growth, and change. I have learned that my career does not have to follow one perfect or traditional path for it to be meaningful. Every position I have held, challenge I have faced, and new skill I have learned has contributed to the person and professional I am becoming. I believe there is strength in being willing to start again, ask questions, and step outside of what feels comfortable. Sometimes growth requires changing direction, and I have learned to trust that evolving does not mean I am starting over—it means I am moving forward with more knowledge, experience, and purpose than I had before.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering the industry to remember that it is okay to reinvent themselves at any age. Life does not always unfold according to plan, and unexpected changes can create opportunities for growth and new beginnings. Never be afraid to reassess your direction and press the reset button when necessary. Starting over is not a sign of failure; sometimes it is one of the most courageous decisions you can make. Give yourself permission to evolve, continue learning, and create a path that reflects who you are becoming and where you truly want to go.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I see in the financial and business consulting field is the need for greater representation and accessibility. These spaces have traditionally been male-dominated, particularly in leadership and decision-making roles, and I believe there is an incredible opportunity for more women to enter the field, build confidence in their expertise, and open doors for the women who come after them. Representation matters because seeing women succeed in these spaces can help others recognize that they belong there too. At the same time, many individuals and small business owners know they need better financial organization or business systems but may feel overwhelmed, unsure of where to begin, or believe professional support is out of reach. I see an opportunity to help bridge both gaps by contributing to greater representation as a woman in the industry while also making support feel more approachable, practical, and accessible. Through my work, I hope to empower others with the structure, guidance, and confidence they need to take meaningful steps toward their goals.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family is the foundation of everything I do, both personally and professionally. Being a mother has shaped the way I view success, leadership, and the example I want to set. My daughter is one of my greatest motivations because I want her to see that it is possible to grow, change direction, pursue an education, build something of your own, and continue becoming the person you want to be. My partner has also been an important part of my journey, encouraging my confidence and helping me remain consistent, especially during moments when I may question myself or the path ahead. Having someone who believes in what I am building has reminded me of the importance of believing in myself as well.

Integrity, compassion, and empathy are also values I carry into the way I treat others and approach my work. I believe in helping people without judgment and meeting them where they are. I also value balance and self-care because I have learned that taking care of myself allows me to be more present for my family, my goals, and the people I serve.
