Her Story
About Jessica
Jessica Johnson serves as the overseer of the Tennessee Teens program for a maternal health company based in Memphis, Tennessee. With eight years in the field and four months in her current role, she ensures her member-facing team has the support, technology, and resources needed to deliver services that improve pregnancy experiences and aim to reduce infant mortality rates. Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Mississippi following community college studies, a master's in Human Services Counseling and Crisis Response and Trauma, and a pastoral graduate certificate. She is currently a PhD candidate at Liberty University, with her dissertation in progress and anticipated completion in December 2026 or March 2027. As a mental health coach certified through the American Association of Christian Counselors, she maintains memberships in the American Psychological Association and the AACC. Her path into human services was shaped by early volunteer work in church ministry and a jail ministry that highlighted the need for basic resources in communities. Johnson contributes to organizations addressing sex trafficking, including A Way Out and Nurture and Point, where she serves on the board, and supports community efforts through Mission Church's Orange Mound Ministry and Kingdom Community Builders.
