Jessica Jones

Senior Peer Support Specialist
Better Health
Wichita, KS 67226

Jessica Jones is a clinically trained mental health professional who brings equal parts compassion and candor to her work. With more than 16 years of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and people navigating trauma, burnout, chronic illness, and life’s quieter battles, she blends art, science, and strategy to create care that feels human—not clinical. Her philosophy is simple: healing shouldn’t come with fluorescent lights, cold waiting rooms, or rehearsed platitudes. It should feel like someone actually shows up for you.

Certified in Mental Health & Nutrition through the University of Canterbury, Jessica has led cognitive and art therapy sessions, designed care coordination programs, and worked in peer support leadership roles to ensure people have both emotional tools and practical resources. At Better Health, she continues to advocate for accessible, heart-centered care that empowers patients beyond a checklist or diagnosis. Her approach is rooted in lived experience as much as it is in training—she doesn’t promise perfection, she walks with you through the process.

Beyond her professional work, Jessica is deeply committed to social impact, actively supporting causes ranging from mental health and gender equity to veteran support and community improvement. She believes resilience is earned, not assumed—and that healing is a collective effort. Whether she’s guiding an individual through overwhelm or helping organizations rethink how they care for people, Jessica shows up as both strategist and soft landing. If you’re building something better for the world, she’s already on your side.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I credit my success to a life lived in motion—both literally and creatively. Traveling and working with Delta Airlines exposed me to diverse people, perspectives, and stories that reshaped my understanding of resilience and humanity. Art gave me a language for emotions that don’t fit neatly into words. And clinical training sharpened my ability to turn all of that empathy into real, actionable support.

At my core, I’m clinically trained with a soft heart and a sharp tongue. I blend art, science, and strategy to fight for real people in real life—and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I believe it’s okay to make mistakes—growth requires grace, not perfection. Service is also central to who I am; I’ve spent over 12 years volunteering with the St. Vincent de Paul Society to support food-insecure families and serve lunch to schoolchildren. My passion for art therapy and nutrition in mental health drives my work, blending creativity, care, and practicality into everything I do.
