I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my father throughout my life, as well as persistence, continuous learning, and strong mentorship. Staying committed to my students and staff has allowed me to grow into leadership while maintaining a student-centered approach.

Much of your experience comes from being in the trenches—learning on the job and working closely as a team.

Don’t stop—just keep going. Pursue leadership opportunities, build relationships, and learn continuously to grow into roles of influence.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

A current challenge is state funding. An opportunity lies in the ability to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my work, my values are my students. In my personal life, my children—some of whom were once my students—are my greatest priority.
