About Jessica

Jessica Valerio is an accomplished IT Operations professional and the Founder of CLApp at Learning Careers Environment, with over eight years of experience in technology, automation, and workforce development. Passionate about integrating innovation with education, she focuses on creating solutions that prepare younger generations for career exploration and skill development. Through her work, Jessica has helped organizations streamline processes, enhance security, and implement cutting-edge technologies, while mentoring and guiding students and entrepreneurs to reach their potential. Driven by a commitment to workforce development, Jessica developed CLApp, an application designed to help middle school students explore career industries through four core focus areas: essential competencies and skills, education and employer connection, belonging and conflict resolution, and equitable access. Her work incorporates gamification, a virtual world, and cognitive AI tools collectively known as GVCI, offering a dynamic and interactive approach to career readiness. Through extensive user research, mentoring, and feedback from educators and parents, Jessica ensures that the application aligns with real-world learning needs. In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Jessica serves as IT Systems Engineer at Vanguard Companies and participates as a mentor in the Milestone Circles program at the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center. Her academic background includes a B.S. in Information and Computer Science from Park University and an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Metropolitan Community College.
