Her Story

About Jessica

Jessica Quiroga is an outside sales and business development professional with more than 20 years of experience in the chemical refining and oil and gas distribution industry. She entered the workforce immediately after graduating high school a year early in 2006, launching her career at a small international distribution company in Houston. There, she spent five years as vice president assistant, managing travel arrangements, quotes, orders, shipping, and documentation, while gaining hands-on exposure to products such as personal protective equipment, cryogenic valves, and equipment modifications.

Building on that foundation, Quiroga joined Sunbelt Supply, where she progressed through a series of inside roles in customer service, sales, order processing, expediting, and project management before ultimately moving into outside sales and business development. Today, she travels to chemical plants and refineries throughout the region to cultivate relationships with buyers, procurement teams, planners, and schedulers, representing piping equipment, valves, pumps, automation solutions, and related services. Her work often includes hosting lunch-and-learns and leading plant tours to strengthen client partnerships. She holds a high school diploma along with a project management online course certificate, and maintains her TWIC and HASC certifications.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Quiroga is known for the values she brings to her work: respect, honesty, loyalty, and kindness, qualities she credits for establishing her strong reputation in a competitive, male-dominated field. She balances her demanding career with her role as a single mother, and remains active in her community through volunteer work with her daughter's marching band booster club and Toys for Tots.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jessica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to treating people with respect and building genuine, lasting relationships. As a Christian woman, I try to lead with honesty, loyalty, and kindness in everything I do, and I believe being a genuinely good person has helped me maintain a strong professional reputation throughout my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I was told not to let myself go after becoming a mother. That advice taught me the importance of taking care of myself, waking up early, getting ready with intention, and showing up prepared and confident for work every day.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to learn as much as they can while working the desk. Take the time to truly understand the product, know the people you work with, and know your team, because you are only as strong as the team around you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

This industry offers strong financial compensation and the opportunity to build a good work-life balance, which I consider real advantages. At the same time, one of the biggest challenges is learning to manage and control your emotions, especially in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Respect, faith, kindness, honesty, and loyalty guide both my professional and personal life. Building and protecting a good reputation matters deeply to me, and I always strive to stay honest and loyal to myself first.
