Jessica Rebar entered the aerospace field in 2010, starting in order entry at an aerospace coating company that served as the final finisher for parts before they went onto planes. She advanced into quality, where she worked with auditors, and then took on purchasing responsibilities for materials, PPE, and supplies while ensuring compliance with specifications and budgets. In her current role in quality calibrations for low Earth orbit satellites, Rebar coordinates with tool owners to schedule calibrations for testing modules such as regenerative power systems and power supply systems, ensuring equipment meets compliance and quality standards for space launches. She aspires to reach a quality manager level to implement broader changes, including improvements to electrostatic discharge programs. Rebar credits her success to her father's example of hard work and never giving up, and she emphasizes the importance of fairness, providing opportunities, and genuine care in her work and personal life.

01What do you attribute your success to?

It really comes down to family for me. My dad was a huge role model. He's always working, and when he wasn't working, he was working on things at home, and he would incorporate me. It's that never giving up. Now as I'm older with my girls, I have to be that example too. Perseverance, just keep going and you'll make it to other heights.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Just do it. Just try, get yourself out there. I can get the best of you, but what's the worst that's gonna happen, right? If you try, I don't know how far you can go.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Fairness and care. I think everybody deserves to be treated fairly and given an opportunity. And caring about what you do. You can tell when people care.
