Jessica Sawyer

Jessica Sawyer is a seasoned financial services leader with more than 13 years of experience in banking, audit, and governance. Serving as a Manager of Risk Advisory for Cherry Bekaert Jessica specializes in risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and internal control over financial reporting (ICFR). She began her career in retail banking operations and progressed into audit, eventually building and leading the internal audit function from the ground up. Known for her strategic mindset and strong ethical compass, she partners closely with leadership to strengthen compliance, enhance controls, and support sustainable organizational growth. A graduate of Indiana University Southeast, Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Political Science, as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in Accounting. Her leadership style is approachable and people-centered, with a strong emphasis on mentorship and developing talent. She is recognized for her ability to balance technical expertise with collaboration, ensuring audit functions not only meet regulatory expectations but also add meaningful value to the business. Beyond her professional role, Jessica is deeply committed to community engagement and service. She serves as Chair of the Young Professionals Committee for One Southern Indiana Chamber & Economic Development, Board Member for Volunteers of America Mid-States and as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Clark & Floyd Indiana. Her dedication to leadership and service has earned her multiple honors, including being named a Louisville Business First Forty Under 40 honoree.
