About Jessica
Jessica Smith has been in the counseling field for 15 years. She began her journey after entering recovery, starting as peer support at a women's addiction facility before earning her bachelor's degree in psychology. She progressed to case management services and obtained two master's degrees in 2019, one in clinical mental health counseling and another in addiction counseling. Smith has provided counseling services for about 8 years and founded an IOP substance abuse program in her county 7 years ago, expanding it successfully across three counties before leaving the agency. She is now enrolled in a PhD program in psychology, which she expects to complete in the next couple of years, while building her own private practice in Leitchfield, Kentucky. Smith maintains active memberships in the American Counseling Association and the Kentucky Counseling Association. She is a National Certified Counselor with several addiction certifications and a C-DBT certification. In her current role, she handles patient crisis concerns, updates treatment plans, teaches substance abuse groups online, performs utilization review, and completes doctoral coursework.
