Her Story
About Jessica
Jessica Springer is a healthcare IT consultant, entrepreneur, and wellness advocate whose career bridges healthcare, technology, and service. She began her professional journey as a surgical technologist after earning her Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology from Savannah Technical College in 2008. Working in operating rooms across multiple specialties, she developed a deep understanding of perioperative care and patient outcomes. Driven by a passion for improving healthcare systems, she later earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics from Georgia State University in 2017, positioning herself at the intersection of clinical practice and healthcare technology.
Over the past decade, Springer has built a successful career as a healthcare IT leader specializing in electronic health record (EHR) implementation, optimization, and change management. Certified in both Cerner SurgiNet and Epic Optime, she has led major perioperative system implementations and workflow transformation projects for hospitals and health systems. Her expertise includes system design, build, testing, training, and stakeholder engagement, helping organizations improve efficiency while supporting clinicians through complex technology transitions. Known for her collaborative leadership style, Springer believes successful transformation begins with listening, relationship-building, and understanding the human side of change.
Following the loss of both of her parents within a three-month period, Springer embraced a new chapter as an entrepreneur and co-owner of I Am Genesis Company, a beauty, wellness, and holistic spa dedicated to restoration and transformation. While continuing to consult on healthcare technology projects, she has expanded her purpose-driven work through wellness services, ministry, and doula support. Grounded in her Christian faith, Springer is passionate about helping others experience healing, growth, and renewal, whether through healthcare innovation, holistic wellness, or compassionate service to her community.

Ten minutes with Jessica
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to my faith in Jesus Christ, which has been my source of strength through some of the most difficult moments of my life. After losing both of my parents within three months, I experienced a period of profound grief that ultimately became a catalyst for personal growth and transformation. That journey taught me resilience, purpose, and the importance of living with intention. It gave me the courage to step away from full-time employment and pursue purpose-driven entrepreneurship as co-owner of I Am Genesis Company. Through faith, perseverance, and a commitment to serving others, I have been able to turn personal tragedy into an opportunity to create meaningful impact in both my professional and personal life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that it is possible to build a successful career while genuinely helping others and making a difference. Throughout my career, from serving as a surgical technologist for eight years to working as an IT systems consultant supporting electronic health record implementations, I have learned that professional success and service to others can go hand in hand. That perspective has motivated me to give my best in every role, mentor others whenever possible, and approach my work with dedication and integrity. I believe that success is not only measured by achievements and recognition but also by the positive impact you have on the people around you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to trust God, follow their hearts, and believe in the gifts and abilities they have been given. I truly believe women can have it all when Christ is at the center of their lives. What may seem impossible can become reality when your purpose aligns with God's plan.
Be open to opportunities, continue developing your skills, and trust that every experience is preparing you for your next season. Whether in entrepreneurship, family, or your career, success requires dedication. Family is work, marriage is work, and building a career is work—but the most important work you will ever do is learning to love well.
When you lead with faith, purpose, perseverance, and love, you can create a life that is both meaningful and impactful. Stay grounded in who God created you to be, and never underestimate the difference you can make in the lives of others.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities for entrepreneurs today is the ability to build purpose-driven businesses that create meaningful impact while serving the needs of their communities. At the same time, one of the biggest challenges is gaining visibility and exposure in a highly competitive marketplace. Building awareness, growing a client base, and establishing credibility often require significant effort, persistence, and relationship-building. However, for those who remain committed to their vision and consistently provide value, there are tremendous opportunities to grow, connect with others, and make a lasting difference.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Making a positive impact and helping others are the values that guide everything I do. Having experienced the loss of both parents, I have developed a deep compassion for individuals navigating grief and life’s difficult transitions. I am passionate about supporting others through those experiences and helping them find hope and healing. Through my involvement with organizations that support women and individuals affected by loss, I strive to spread love, encouragement, and understanding. Professionally, I value service, integrity, hard work, and mentorship. My journey from surgical technologist to healthcare IT consultant and entrepreneur has reinforced the importance of using my skills to help others in meaningful ways. Personally, I also believe in the importance of self-care and balance, whether through spending time with loved ones, enjoying wellness activities, or simply taking time to recharge so I can continue showing up fully for others.
