Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jessica
01What do you attribute your success to?
My perseverance, agility, and ability to adapt quickly come from growing up in different countries and adjusting to new situations. This has made me persistent and good in a crisis. My parents and many mentors throughout my career have also contributed to my success. I lean into change and thrive in the unpredictability of tech startups.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
There's no such thing as perfection - iterate, iterate, iterate. Go with an MVP, focus on moving forward rather than nitty-gritty details. Communicate with precision and lead with clarity, especially in leadership positions.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take a step back and articulate your value, your story, and your impact - don't expect people to connect the dots for you. Lead with clarity and precision. Don't chase tasks, build systems. Clarity gives confidence and confidence gives momentum. Leverage your EQ as a differentiator, especially with AI, and don't be afraid to be called emotional.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Things are moving so quickly, having enough hours in the day and trying to stay ahead while managing time effectively.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being highly ethical and building trust, especially in startups where everything can fall apart without it. Also, protecting your time and not overworking since we're not performing life-changing brain surgery - be productive but guard your personal time.
