Ten minutes with Jessica

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My husband once told me to make sure that everything that I create, I document. Everything that I had a hand in, I saved somewhere else. Basically, like, put your name on everything that you do, so that if somebody tries to trace it back, it'll be traced back to you.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Sometimes you can find jobs that you didn't think that you would be qualified for. So you have to look outside the box a little bit. I came from working at a restaurant, and I never thought I would be qualified to work at a hospital.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There's definitely room for growth. There's a lot of changes. The challenges would be the changes. There's a lot of changes currently happening, always happening. We're always so it's basically like constant change.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

For work, you need to respect your time, value your type of person. Like, as far as asking to work over, short notice, things like that, being on time to meetings. In my personal life, I value family, really, above everything else.
