Jessie Clinton (She/Her) is a dedicated, enthusiastic, and results-driven professional. Known for her loyalty, positivity, and fast-paced work ethic, Jessie currently serves as a Sales Support Coordinator III at Elevance Health (formerly Anthem), Her approach emphasizes communication, transparency, and consistency, enabling her to adapt seamlessly to different teams and service styles while delivering exceptional outcomes.

Jessie began her career in the medical field in 2013 as a Dispensing Optician, but her ambition to understand “all the pieces of the clock” motivated her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from William Penn University College for Working Adults, completing it in 2015 while working full time. She then joined UnityPoint Health as an Account Resolution Specialist, managing payments, resolving complex issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Later, she transitioned to UnityPoint at Home as a Medicare Billing Specialist for Durable Medical Equipment, where she remained until 2019. A brief role at Automotive Finance Corporation followed, leveraging her outgoing, customer-focused personality before relocating to Colorado.

After moving to Colorado, Jessie joined what was then Anthem, quickly making an impact with white-glove service for State of New Jersey employees, and later, on to Pharmaceutical employees.

Through her dedication, she advanced into sales, attending the All Sales Academy conference where she discovered her ability to adapt to any professional style.

Jessie’s career reflects a combination of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and a passion for learning. Outside of work, she enjoys music, comedy, traveling, fashion, and spending time with family, friends, and her cat, living a life that blends professional excellence with personal fulfillment.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my Trinity: Communication, Transparency, and Consistency. It makes life so much easier, whether you're at home or work. As long as you stick to those three things, life just gels.

I also believe humor is a huge, huge thing - not everybody has it, it's an acquired skill sometimes, and I was born with it. It's a necessity, especially when I was working on the Member Services side, because I would have to listen to people going through really hard times. Humor, compassion, empathy - all of those things are essential. I'm a firm believer that if you don't like what you're doing, find something else to do. I love people - I don't like crowds of people, but I love people. I love helping them, and I also love figuring out issues and being a part of the solution. I don't like approaching a possible problem without at least one solution in mind, most likely three. I like alternatives. And I've said this since I've been in Colorado, but most likely longer: you cannot fit a star into a square peg. It's not gonna happen.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

That's a great question. I'd have to say that it's that if you're not sure if something, ask. I don't want to waste anyone's time, my boss', team's, mine. I also don't mind. If I don't know, I wouldn't unless I asked.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The first advice I would give is be a sponge, soak everything around you up, and that's for any position anybody's in. The second advice: listen more than you speak. And the third would be apply what you've heard, or seek clarification if you have any questions before you try to apply.

If they were starting off on the Sales side, I would recommend that they attend the All Sales Academy. I'm also a visual learner, and I know we're living in a virtual world, so I have team meetings every week where we take turns taking control' so that I can actually physically do what they're showing me, because I'm one of those people - if I do something about three times, it's almost committed to memory.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Retention and frugality. Everyone needs healthcare, but is looking for the best deal. Fortunately, Anthem/Elevance has some really great deals if they spoke to their brokers. Some they may not even know about. ~There is no evolution without change~ JDC 2009

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My Trinity is: Communication, Transparency, and Consistency. It makes life so much easier, whether you're at home or work. As long as you stick to those three things, life is just so much easier.

I also have some 'no-go's, which used to be pretty standard: Liars, Thieves and Hypocrites. Of course we all evolve (hopefully), but there's no place for this behavior in/out of the workplace. Trust is imperative.

I also believe in self-validation and self-affirmation. My girlfriend of over 30 years will tell you to this day, if you want to know the truth about anything (even if it's bad about me), Jessie will tell you the truth. I value truth and authenticity infinitely.
