Jevanka earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a specialization in International Macro-Finance from the University of California, Davis, in March 2019. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Analytics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, expanding her expertise in data-driven strategy and decision-making. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having a strong and reliable support system that has encouraged me throughout my journey. As someone who has always embraced challenges and pushed beyond my comfort zone, I have been driven by a desire to grow, explore new opportunities, and prove to myself that I am capable of achieving meaningful goals. My family has played an important role in shaping my determination, and my husband’s unwavering encouragement and support have been a constant source of inspiration. His belief in me has motivated me to embrace new experiences, take on challenges with confidence, and continue striving to make a positive impact.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most valuable advice she has received throughout her journey came from her husband, encouraging her not to fear rejection, but to remain confident, consistent, and positive, with the understanding that circumstances can change in an instant.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
She would offer the same advice her husband gave her: do not be afraid to take the first step. Be your authentic self at all times, as you can never predict the outcome. Simply put forth your best effort and believe in yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is creating meaningful impact within large, complex organizations while continuously finding ways to improve and innovate. As I navigate a new organization, my focus is on demonstrating the value I bring by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, streamline procedures, and support my team in achieving greater efficiency and effectiveness. I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute fresh perspectives, collaborate across teams, and help build solutions that create lasting improvements for the organization.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are collaboration, connection, and support. I believe in being a bridge that brings teams together, strengthens cross-functional partnerships, and creates an environment where people can work toward shared goals. I value teamwork, open communication, and helping others succeed through thoughtful collaboration. On a personal level, I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my husband and family, whose encouragement has been a constant source of inspiration throughout my journey.
