Her Story

About Jill

Jill Occhiuto is a furniture sales and management professional with extensive experience in showroom operations, merchandising, client relationships, and design collaboration. Her connection to the furniture industry began at an early age, when she assisted at her family’s furniture store and later worked at Leftbank Art showroom in Las Vegas. She went on to build her career through roles in showroom sales and design consulting before joining Theodore Alexander, where she currently serves as Showroom Manager. At Theodore Alexander, Occhiuto re-merchandises the showroom and works closely with interior designers on projects involving vision boards, quotes, sectionals, bedrooms, and other furnishings. She also assists consumer traffic by connecting clients with interior designers to help create personalized home environments. Her earlier experience includes showroom sales, retail operations, merchandising, styling, inventory, convention operations, and customer satisfaction. She brings a strong focus on client relationships, creativity, honesty, and personalized service to her work. Occhiuto is also deeply involved in community service through Best Buddies, an organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She serves as a board member of the Best Buddies local chapter in Las Vegas and as committee chair for the Champion of the Year Gala. In 2024, she raised nearly $50,000 for the organization through her connections within the furniture community. She was also one of 50 people nationally selected for the Best Buddies Emerging Leaders program. Occhiuto earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Nevada State University and was previously a scholar-athlete who maintained a 4.8 GPA and achieved multiple regional and state swimming titles.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jill

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my community and support system, who have consistently encouraged me, supported me, and lifted me up throughout my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received came from my aunt, who showed me how going above and beyond for everyone will allow for the greatest return on investment.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to go for it and pursue opportunities in the furniture industry. It is a great industry for women because our ability to multitask, use our intuition, and provide a sense of care can be valuable in building trust with customers. Clients want to feel that they are being listened to, supported, and genuinely taken care of throughout the process.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the furniture industry is finding creative ways to close sales amid tariffs and increasing costs caused by inflation. These challenges also create opportunities to think more creatively and find new approaches to serving clients and presenting products.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are mindfulness and balance. May we seek to balance our personal selves with our professional selves. Our motherhood with our own needs/ambitions. Our home life with our community life. Our mental and physical health. Striving for balance while being mindful and kind to others are exceptionally imperative.
