About Jill
Jill Woxland serves as CEO and owner of her marketing company, where she has worked for nearly 38 years. A high school teacher suggested she pursue marketing due to her strengths in English, writing, and creative writing. She assembled her education over six years across five institutions as a commuter student, ultimately earning a degree in journalism and mass communication in 1986 and completing several semesters of MBA studies at Brown University. Woxland is actively involved as a board member for five years with Pakamani, an organization supporting impoverished female entrepreneurs in South Africa. She participates in professional groups including WPO and Vistage. Among the career advice she values most is expecting employees to perform at 80 percent of an owner's level and recognizing that business partnership challenges often emerge during prosperous times rather than only during difficulties.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Expect employees to function at 80% of an owner's level and be happy with that, as not everyone operates like an entrepreneur. Also, business partnership issues often arise when things are going well, not just in tough times.
