About Jill
Jill Yamasaki serves as Business Developer Director in the construction and legal industries, bringing more than 20 years of expertise in business development, marketing, and operations. She currently oversees a small business, managing daily operations, mentoring employees, coaching, HR, and payroll functions, and is in transition to rejoin a law firm environment. Jill attributes her professional ascent to becoming a mother at a young age and working her way up from the copy room to director-level positions at law firms, where she focused on building collaborative teams to drive business growth. Her educational foundation includes numerous college courses, general education studies, Lean Six Sigma certification, a business certification from Stanford University, and various leadership certifications. She has maintained active membership in the Legal Marketing Association for over 15 years, gaining knowledge through workshops and mentorship. Outside her professional pursuits, Jill volunteers and donates time to a local women's shelter and enjoys hiking and watching her son participate in sports. She values being trustworthy, professional, approachable, and friendly in both her work and personal life, and advises others not to take things personally while pursuing goals one day at a time.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Becoming a mom when I was young and having to work my way up to support my son. Started in the copy room and worked my way up to a director position at a law firm.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't take things personal, tomorrow's a new day.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't get discouraged one day at a time, and just keep pursuing your goals. Some days are hard, but every day's a new day, just keep on trekking and you'll find your end result and goal.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The change with AI and technology; things are changing and people are learning how to adapt, gaining that new knowledge of how things are going to be changing.
