Her Story
About Jillian
My career journey has taken me through several different areas before I found my place in executive recruiting. I have a degree in allied health and spent close to 10 years working in healthcare. After that, I transitioned to become the Head of Safety for a manufacturing plant. About three and a half years ago, I got into recruiting through my sister who worked for the company, and that's how I got in. The company merged in January, but I've continued focusing on the healthcare division. My typical day involves a lot of networking and outreach, having good conversations with people and candidates, trying to market and gain business. I work to align candidates with perfect positions that could be an upgrade to what they're currently doing. We always try to make life better for them. I'm active in the RN network where I post jobs, and I use LinkedIn and Indeed extensively in my work.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I guess if you work hard, it will come to a positive end for you. That's really the best advice I've received. It's really hard to think of things just off my head, but working hard and knowing it will lead to something good has always stuck with me.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You know, be open-minded, you know, move forward with kindness, always. That will really get you far, if you are always kind and you treat people with respect. That's really it. You know, kindness and respect goes a long way.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I recruit for healthcare, and that's really a never-ending need. I would say that. I mean, we're always gonna need healthcare. Healthcare is never gonna go away. So, yeah, there's always gonna be a need.
