Jitka Bedford
Jitka Bedford is the founder of Portable Tenant, a PropTech company transforming the way U.S. renters apply for housing through the innovative Portable Tenant Screening Report (PTSR). When Colorado passed legislation requiring PTSRs, the technology to support it did not exist. Recognizing this gap, Jitka stepped in to build a secure, compliant platform that allows renters to own, generate, and share their verified screening data directly through a Consumer Reporting Agency. Her vision is reshaping tenant screening into a transparent, reusable, and renter-centric process that benefits landlords, renters, and property platforms alike. Before founding Portable Tenant, Jitka spent 15 years at LeaseRunner, culminating in her role as Vice President of Operations. There, she helped streamline leasing processes for landlords and tenants, leveraging her expertise in project management, systems thinking, user experience design, and data analytics. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience coordinating rebranding efforts at Covidien, honing her skills in process optimization and cross-functional project leadership. Jitka holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations and Information Management from the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business. Outside of her professional pursuits, Jitka enjoys an active lifestyle and time with her husband, kids, and a dog, finding joy in skiing, traveling, cooking, and baking. Her approach to life mirrors her work: thoughtful, innovative, and dedicated to creating meaningful impact. With Portable Tenant, she is pioneering a new era of renter empowerment and compliance innovation, driving the evolution of digital renting in the United States.
